Aliasing
Aliasing describes the effect that results when a frequency signal is recorded at a sampling rate higher than one-half. In video, aliasing occurs because of definite frame rates and exposure time. The most recognizable form of aliasing is the “wagon-wheel” effect. This can be seen in films where a car is driving fast and the wheels appear to be spinning backwards or moving too slowly.
