Anti-Aliasing

Anti-aliasing is the process of eliminating higher frequency signal components that are unable to be removed by the recording device. If left unchecked, these signals will create unwanted effects on the final image. In film or digital photography, anti-aliasing is carried out by utilizing an anti-aliasing filter. This filter assists in lowering the image resolution below the restricted level of a digital sensor.
