Back Light
In video, back lighting pertains to the method of lighting a person or object from the back in order to achieve a radiance around the subject, while the surrounding objects stay dark. Back lighting is utilized in order to convey a specific mood, or can be used to provide symbolism (i.e. the “halo-ing” effect indicates a person of good character).
