Bit Rate

Bit rate is a term that describes the speed at which a specific amount of information is moved from one position to another. Bit rates are gauged in Mbps (megabits per second), Kbps (kilobits per second), and bps (bits per second). The bit rate of an audio file also indicates its quality. For example, a file compressed at 200 bps will be less clear than a file compressed at 300 bps.
