Blue-ray Disc Association

The BDA, or Blue-ray Disc Association, is a coalition within the technology industry that produces and enforces standards for Blue-ray formats. The BDA also attempts to increase the business of the Blue-ray Disc through the work of the general members, board of directors, and contributors. The initial launch of the BDA was in 2002 with LG Electronics, Samsung, Philips, Hitachi, Pioneer, Sharp, Sony, Thomson, and Panasonic on board. It officially became an association in 2004.
