Drop Frame

In timecoding, a drop frame is necessary to make up for the .03 fps in the 29.97 fps frame rate in the NTSC color video format. So the timecodes will be parallel and timecode errors will not accumulate over time, numbers are occasionally dropped within the drop frame format.
