Mono

Mono, also known as monophonic sound reproduction, is a single, shared channel system comprised of one speaker and one microphone. If there is a scenario in which there are multiple speakers or microphones, the separate channels are combined into a singular signal path. Mono sound is utilized in some talk radio, telephone systems, and radiotelephone communications. Otherwise, stereo sound has replaced the monophonic sound reproduction system.
