PAL
PAL, or Phase Alternating Line, is the analog television format that is used in numerous countries, excluding the United States.PAL was created in Germany by Walter Bruch in 1963. The format was widely adopted in Europe by 1967. The term ‘phase alternating line’ references the process that color information goes through when the video signal is reversed from line to line.
The PAL format consists of 635 lines per 50 Hz.
