Reversal Film

Reversal film is a kind of photographic film that creates a positive image on a transparent material. Unlike negative film which only produces prints and negatives, reversal film is processed to create diapositives or transparencies. A good example of reversal film is a slide that is displayed using a projector. The slide displays the full image, in color, but not on a solid base. One can see through a slide, while viewing the complete image.

Reversal film has been known to be utilized by the film industry. Using Super 8,16mm and 8mm formats, film makers can prevent the break down of film stock due to the copying process.
