S-Video

S-video, the abbreviation for Super-video, is the method of sending video signals through a cable that separates the data into two individual signals- one signal is for luminance and the second signal is for chrominance. S-video creates a more crisp image than that which is produced by composite video signals. In order to utilize S-video, the receiving device must be equipped with the correct input jack and the sending device must be equipped with the correct output. A unique S-video cable must be used to join the two devices.
