Screenwriter
A screenwriter is the person responsible for creating screenplays (scripts) for film and television. Screenwriters create both spec screenplays (their own original ideas) and commissioned screenplays (concepts provided by studios). A formal education is not necessary in order to be a screenwriter, but most colleges now offer courses and degrees in screenwriting.
