Shotgun Microphone

A shotgun microphone is a type of microphone that is utilized in the recording of nature, TV and film sets, and stadiums. A shotgun microphone is equipped with sound sensitive lobes to the rear, right, and left of the mic. A decreased sensitivity in the rear and sides of the mic is ensured due to the slits that are cut down the side of the microphone. The overall design contributes to the microphones ability to perform wave cancellation, getting rid of the majority of “off-axis” sounds.
