Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company is a wide ranging conglomerate that operates within all types of media. The following is a list of the company’s divisions: Disney Consumer Products, The Walt Disney Studios, Parks and Resorts, and Media Networks. Each of those divisions has a number of smaller subsidiaries under them that create films, products, animation, theme parks, etc. for Walt Disney Company all over the world.

The Walt Disney Company started out as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in 1923, situated in the garage of Walt’s uncle. By 1926, the company had expanded into professional studios in Silver Lake.

The Walt Disney Company has created some of America’s most iconic animation including Mickey Mouse and a plethora of beautiful princesses. 1955 saw the opening of Disneyland in California. During the 1950s Disney also focused on television with the introduction of The Mickey Mouse Club.

Through numerous presidents, lots and lots of characters, and an eternal devotion to children, the Walt Disney Company continues to produce profitable and entertaining media in America and countries all over the world.
