It seems as though for all of history Apple has been the little guy striving to catch up with the giant that is Microsoft. As of the end of trading on Wednesday this week, Apple has actually passed Microsoft in terms of market capitalization. The closing numbers on Wednesday valued Apple at roughly $222 billion, $3 billion ahead of Microsoft.
The amazing thing here is that Macs still only account for approximately 1 out of every 10 computers sold. Obviously, they have made their way be extending their products well beyond the personal computer, but it also goes to show you how much growth potential is still ahead of Steve Jobs and his crew.
